Alicia Salazar is a Professor in Solid Mechanics at Rey Juan Carlos University since 2019. She leads the “Fracture and Fatigue of polymers” group and is specialized in non-conventional mechanical characterization of materials. Prof. Salazar is secretary of the Spanish Structural Integrity Society and member of ESIS TC4 Technical Committee dedicated to the Fracture of Polymers, Compounds and Adhesives, consolidating international relationships with leading groups on that subject. Those collaborations have been established through research stays at Imperial College London (UK), Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria) and Politecnico di Milano (Italy). Prof Salazar is author of 60 papers in the field of fracture and fatigue of materials and has participated in more than 50 research projects with European, national and private funding.
